It wasn't so much that Carol was particularly in a hurry, it was more than she hated idling. She was a woman who did - or at least tried to do - everything with purpose. And that included walking. Why meander through this sketchy alley when they can get to the comfort of her ship and crack open the bottle?

Carol isn't glancing over at him at the moment as she has her eyes scanning for potential threats. She could probably physically best just about anyone who appeared, but she prefers not to be surprised.
