Walking the earth with eyes turned skywards ...
A shame that he isn't moving all that slow and that he can't read her thoughts. If he was to know she was in a hurry - he'd have a lazy smile on his lips and Han would have to make some mention of her wanting to rush into getting him alone.
Instead, she's treated to what it's like to walk through a dingy alley with Han Solo. If she were to look carefully at his face, it would be a bit hard to read. He has a look on it that seems to be looking at everything at once or possibly nothing at all.
He, also, might be a tad more quiet now than he was inside the cantina. Not to the point of being unfriendly or in a way that suggests he doesn't want to talk anymore, but ... he does seem slightly different now.
"My ship is still half taken apart." He reminds her with a half hearted shrug. "I can't go anywhere in a hurry."

A necessity for him to think that way, really. More often than not, he doesn’t have a lot of stones to throw. Or he’s trying to make due with a twig instead. It’s probably the thing that most clearly separates Han from Carol, besides the special powers. She’s a woman that has resources. (Just look at the way her ship is outfitted!) He’s gotta beg, borrow and steal to get by.
Chewbacca’s blue eyes look over at Carol's. It’s obvious that she’s different then the usual women that his partner often meets, but he can’t figure out how. She seems nice, at least. Offering him a box of food, weirdly shaped and smelling as it is, buys a lot of goodwill with him.
Chewie woofs out his thought. A brief pause, then the ship offers its translation. “I can do that.”
“Good. Let me go get the credit tab.”
It requires Han to leave the galley, because in hastily throwing on a pair of pants, he didn’t think to grab his wallet or much of anything else. Eager to get his partner off to the task, he goes directly back to the bedroom to fetch the money and bring it back.
It still leaves Chewbacca and Carol alone for a minute or so while the he’s doing that. There are a lot of things the Wookiee considers asking or telling her while they’re sitting, but in the end, he doesn’t say any of them.

Yes, she could've just stood there in silence while Han was gone, but Carol felt like she needed to say something to break the silence. Plus she really did appreciate the gesture. It was some damn good luck that Han was going to be able to help her with her mission. It actually would free up some of her time if he happened to have some time to spare.
Without anything else productive to say, she shoves some more fruit into her mouth.

He speaks, then they wait for him to be understood.
“Your people must think of you as very skilled. Or you are very brave. Uncharted space travel is very dangerous.” There’s a thoughtful pause and then, he offers her this observation. “He wants to protect you.”
no subject
Though Chewie's follow up statement makes her pause on her way to grab more fruit. Sure, she had gathered that Han liked her, but wanting to protect her? Was that...wow. Maybe he didn't even consciously realize that was why he was doing it.
Normally she'd make a crack about not needing protecting, but she wasn't done processing that yet. "Oh. That's. That's really nice of him."

Han, not being very far away, has returned to the room. At what point he got there was hard to say because her ship doesn’t creek and groan the way The Bria does. A look is leveled between the pilot and co-pilot that isn’t overt as glaring, but it’s not completely comfortable. It passes after a moment and Solo puts the promised credit tab on the table and slides it across to the Wookiee.
“I’m just trying to be nice.” Solo says as he folds his arms across his chest. “That’s all.”
Wookiee reflexes keep the credit tab from falling off the table, even as Chewbacca has started opening the cereal box. When Chewie speaks again, it’s all business.
“Two datapads. I’ll see what I can find at the market and then head back to the ship to start getting the files ready. Might take a few hours. Take your time here.”
no subject
"Well thank you for being nice." Whether or not there was more to it than that. She glances back to Chewbacca. "And thank you for getting the data pads." Carol tips back the container to send the rest of the fruit into her mouth. She tosses the empty package onto one of the counters with the intention to properly dispose of it later.

Upon seeing Carol tipping the bag of fruit up towards her lips, he decides to do the same with his box of cereal. Chewbacca is pleased with Cinnamon Toast Crunch and the enthusiasm in his face is a welcome sight after the mild awkwardness of a moment ago. Some brief crunching happens before the Wookiee swallows and says “thank you for the food. See you in a while.”
Maybe he won’t. Chewie probably shouldn’t presume, but he’s pretty sure he will see Carol again.
It’s hard to tell if Han is being sullen or thoughtful while his partner walks out.

She follows him out so that she can close the gangplank and then heads back in to see Han.
"You okay?"
no subject
“It ain’t like it’s a bad thing to want to see you avoiding gravity fields and keeping you from getting too close to a supernova, right?”
With that, Han tips his head back toward the bedroom. Indicating that he’s ready to head back in that direction if she’s still willing ...
no subject
Her hand comes out to take his and after the kiss she guides them back to the bedroom.
no subject
Han’s fingers lace with hers easily. She’ll find that she doesn’t have to tug to get him moving in the direction of the bedroom. He wouldn’t put up the best fight against her, anyway, but she hasn’t ever made him want to.
“I’ve got a lot of opinions on places I’d like you to be.” He says with a slight smirk. “This direction looks real good to me, for instance.”
no subject
“Glad to hear it. I’d be interested in hearing the other opinions.” She stops them at the foot of her bed for another long kiss. Her hands skate across the skin just above his pants.
no subject
He says, the words halfway between a sigh and a groan. His own hands come to her hips, which help him feel steady as the warm haze of arousal begins to effect his senses.
At least the fact that he never got completely dressed means it’s eaiser to get to that undressed point again.
no subject
“Did you sleep well?” she murmured between kisses as her hands moved around to his back.
no subject
He’d probably want to ask her more about it if he’d noticed it before now, but at the moment he’s feeling a little distracted. Distracted in the very best way, but distracted nonetheless.
“Best sleep I’ve gotten in a while.” He admits between touches of their lips. “How bout you?”
no subject
"Same. Helps when you get a good work out before bed." Carol grins against his lips and momentarily takes her hands off of him so she can tug off her gloves and toss them in the general direction of her boots. Her now bare hands go back to feeling over his skin.
"By the way, the uniform, just one long zipper down the front." Just in case he wanted to know.
no subject
“You know ...” the drawl comes out in his voice a little bit more as he extends the words and Han puts his hand on her abdomen now. His long fingers seeking out the seam of the zipper that’s hard to see from far away, but is pretty easy to notice when you’re this close. “I did wonder about that.”
His hand slowly spreads out over the uniform and feels all the way up the trail of this zipper. Taking his time touching all over her. At the top of the trail, where the zipper and the uniform ends, he’ll then make a point of starting to unzip this brightly colored costume just as slowly as he touched over her.
no subject
Her hands stay mostly useless at his arms because she is deeply distracted by the slow, deliberate touching of his own hands. It feels different from last night. Maybe it's because she knows what to expect or perhaps because they're both a little more comfortable, but the touch has a different weight to it.
Though when he puts the same slowness on the zipper, she has to admit that she's getting a little anxious.
no subject
He’s getting to know her well enough to know when she’s feeling anxious. The Corellian decides to take it as a compliment, but doesn’t seem to be sharing the same body language. His fists aren’t clenched. He’s not breathing heavy or shifting his weight in discomfort. There is one tell that shows that he’s eager for what’s likely to come next, though, and that is not very well disguised by pants without underwear.
“Where’d this outfit come from?” He asks ... it suddenly dawning on him that she didn’t have time to grab new clothes when they rushed to answer the alarm.
no subject
And speaking of, she gets a touch of concern on her face when he asks that question. He's seen her powers in action and still stuck around, but she's a bit worried that one more just might break the camel's back.
"It's...one of my powers. I can phase my clothes into other clothes."
no subject
Everything is special about this girl. You can’t even say she puts her pants on one leg at a time like anyone else, because she doesn’t. It makes him wonder how anyone with so many gifts could be satisfied with someone like him - a man who spent virtually every moment he can remember just trying to prove people should notice him. All he can think to do is to cover up those thoughts and feelings with the most charming smile he can manage.
“I don’t know if I’d believe anyone could do all this if I didn’t see it with my own eyes.”
no subject
But she lets out a small laugh at his response and gives his arms a light squeeze. "Then I'm glad you've been looking." Because it's much easier to be herself around him then having to tiptoe around it.
no subject
A slight reassurance, not that he thinks she needs it, but because that feels like it’s the response for the moment. It’s also a bit flirty and that’s the other reason that he said it. It’s fun to flirt with the lady from earth with all the special powers.
He punctuates the thought with a kiss:
no subject
"You're damn charming. Now let's get back to the zipper." Because he only got it about a third of the way down before commenting on the outfit. She's very eager and his sweatpants aren't hiding the fact that he's at least a little eager.
no subject
He's eager too. It's just that he might be a little bit better at keeping in contained - apart from the throbbingly obvious - than she is.
The zipper gets pulled the rest of the way down faster than he was moving before. The reveal of more skin, faintly warm where his rough hand grazes against her, make it even more of a challenge to stay relaxed.
He does what he can to help her shrug out of the uniform when they've gotten beyond the pesky zipper.
