Well, it's like the book says, the geek shall inherit the Earth. These people want to still have jobs when that happens.
I've always wondered why, when they make those lists of richest superheroes, they don't account for the insane costs of being a tech-based superhero. Because there's really no fucking way Bruce Wayne has any money left since none of his Batman research gets used to make something commercial.
