For all the ways the eldest Solo hadn't changed throughout the years, there were plenty of ways in which he had. His aptitude for observing people became empathy. His experiences - frequently told over drinks with young pilots, smugglers, racers and soldiers - were offered to the next generation to learn from. He learned the things he needed to do to make it easier to look in the mirror. And then he did ... most of them.
