The step back was only taken to try and keep him from getting as wet as she is. He's dressed far more sensibly and she knows she could probably learn something from him in that regard. It's only when he asks about being cold that she glances down and realizes she is, "A little." One hand is briefly freed from the important job of touching him to shake her skirt out. "Not when you're close."
