He could have taken the holster off. It would have been easier that way. There's an old adage that he has to believe is a common one throughout the multiverse; 'nothing worth doing is easy'. Han certainly finds Frea worth doing and he hopes she feels the same. All indications seem to point to it anyway.
She'd gone and made it harder by not trying to look while she's doing it.
There are two relatively small straps that keep the gun on the thigh wrapped around his right leg and then, the larger buckle that keeps the holster on his hips. The process to get it off pretty much necessitates the smaller straps to come off first, otherwise, it will all become a tangled mess around his leg.
So he can keep a pretty straight face when she takes off the bottom strap. That one is settled at his mid thigh. The other strap? That one is much higher on the thigh; in a place that no hand would have to wander very far off course to do some prime groping. He manages for a second or two to keep his composure and then he does something like a shiver that has nothing to do with cold. Then he sighs and ... huh, hard to tell because he's not moving a lot, but ... he might just be leaning into her hand.
"A lot better. I've always said that body heat is the best way to stay warm."
