Right now, she's humming happily at the kiss and turning her head to give him one back on his forehead. "Can't say I'm sorry you're not a soldier anymore. I prefer you the way you are. Scruffy hair and independence and all."
He could guilt her into telling him things, yeah. And then she'd not want to see him as much. Not a good trade, she doesn't think--and hopes he would agree. But as it is, this isn't a refusal to answer so much as an inability. His answer to the rebuttal makes her hesitate and think.
After three breaths, she quietly admits, "I don't know."
