Han's and Chewie's job, once they have finished prepping the ship, is to get them out of orbit. For now, this is the reason that he's not with Rey. As much as he'd like to be near her and offer her comfort in the form of some affectionate touches ... he figures she'll sooner be comforted by them being in hyperspace and heading towards Takodona.
So his next twenty minutes or so is spent doing precisely that. Yes, Chewie probably could have handled it himself, but he doubts very much that Rey was going to hold Han piloting duties against him in this case.
But when he's finished ... and the viewport is full of the tunnel of splintered blue and white light of hyperspace, Captain Solo heads immediately to the galley to find Rey.
